Seven weeks to go until February 1st 2016 (day in which pre registration for 2016 Tor will be opened) and lot of top runners already confirmed their participation in the next year race.
First of all Christophe Le Saux, the French athlete who took part in lot of the edition of the race and who frequently make the podium. Gianluca Galeati, Team Tecnica, finished his Tor in second place last year: he will be at the starting line again and he will have to battle again with Dan Doherty, as it happened in Tor 2015.
Then, 3 valuable new entries: Iino Wataru, Japan, 1979, who lives in Germany and won three of the four long distance races he took part in 2015; the German Jens Lukas, 49 years old, 3 times winner and 2 times second in Spartathlon, winner of a 24 Hours European Championship, 2nd placed in Utmb and much more and, last but not least, the 30years old French Nahuel Passerat, who played soccer in Toulouse Fontaines and started doing trail running just in 2012. In his last race of the year, Diagonale des Fous, he arrived at the finish line in 14th place, not far from Iker Karrera, the Spanish who won Tor in 2013.
As far as women are concerned, Denise Zimmermann ( Swiss) and Lisa Borzani ( 1st and 2nd place in 2015 Tor) are going to be part of the race again. There will be then the Iceland Elisabet Margeirsdottir who ended up in the first places of races like Utmb®, The North Face®Lut, Transacanaria®, UT del Monte Fuji, CCC®.
Among the candidates there is also Fernanda Maciel, 35 years old Brasilian who lives in Spain. Her palmares is impressive with 16 first places in international ultra race and a massive number of podium ( including a second place in 2014 World Cup).
