Franco Collé retired before Col de l'Entrelor

The TOR330 - Tor des Géants® of the "reigning champion" Franco Collé finished immediately after Rhêmes, along the climb that leads to the Col de l’Entrelor. The italian had to surrender to the flare-up of a nagging pain in the Achilles tendon that had tormented him recently. Now in the lead is the polish Roman Ficek, followed a few minutes by the british Damian Hall and Jonas Russi.
In the afternoon, at the first life base of Valgrisenche, the initial strategy of the leading group seemed to be outlined: running together. Then, the sensational Collé retreat in the evening.

The women race is also respecting the initial predictions: in fact, Silvia AinhoaTrigueros Garrote, who arrived in Valgrisenche at 18.09 and left after 8 minutes in 11th overall place, is in the lead. After her, Lisa Borzani and Sabrin Verjee appeared, but the Italian left 15 minutes before the British runner.

TOR450 – Tor des Glaciers: Sebastien Raichon and Marina Plavan on their own
After almost 200 kilometres, Sebastien Raichon is still astonishing. An immense head start, more than four and a half hours at Rifugio Dondena. Behind him still Luca Papi and, 10 minutes later, Javier Puit, running their “cautious” race as there are still little less than 100 hours to go.
Marina Plavan as well is increasing her advantage, using her experience which took her twice at the second place. The Italian arrived at Rifugio Sella at 14.36, more than one hour before Nicky Spinks and Isabelle Ost.
