Mountain huts
“A hut to feel at home”
What is a mountain hut?
A soul’s place, first of all.
A safe haven, a destination. A nest.
It’s a place where you feel at home.
A feeling to be experienced not only by those who arrive here after having walked for miles and miles (as the competitors for the Tor des Géants do).
But also by simple hikers.
Rifugio Champillon - Saint Rhémy en Bosses
From the refuge, the trail leads with various hairpin bends up to Col Champillon (2709 m). The first part of the descent from the hill is a steep slope up to the Crou de Bleintse pasture, from where the diagonal path to the right leads to the Ponteilles Damon (2046 m) pasture. Descending the last stretch between the meadows you reach Ponteilles Desot (1807 m). Refreshment and control point.
Oyace - Rifugio Champillon
After crossing the village, climb up to the Eclevey mountain pasture (1573 m). Cross the creek and, entering the forest, you start to climb up to the mountain pasture of Suchéaz and Brison l'Arp (2195 m). Refreshment and control point. With a diagonal half-way up the steep slope that leads to Col Brison (248 m). From here a first section of very steep descent to hairpin bends, up to a flat area, where begins a long diagonal in half-coast that, after crossing some canals, leads to the Berrio Damon pasture (1932 m). Refreshment and control point.
