In the valleys of Champdepraz and Champorcher there is the Mont Avic regional natural park: 5,700 hectares of protected natural landscapes, featuring forest of Swiss mountain pine, Scots pine, larch and beech, as well as vast expanse of rocks, alpine meadows and a whole host of lakes, rivers and streams. The protected area is characterised by a fascinatingly beautiful landscape, largely untouched and unaffected by the hand of Man, since the rough terrain has always placed limits on traditional farming and shepherding activities and, in more recent times, has prevented the development of mass tourism in both summer and winter. The plants and the vegetation in the Park are profoundly influenced by the presence of a large number of humid areas. The park offers a range of guided walks, panels with information on the landscape and a detailed relief of the area.
