The story behind the scenes is fascinating. Piero Bordon, veteran of the Tor and in charge of the volunteers, is something like a maestro of an orchestra. The musicians come from allover the Aostavalley, happy to be helpful.“The whole Aostavalley is standing behind the Tor des Géants®” tells Piero. “I tried to find a way to remain in the environment of the competition and I found much more than what I thought ” says Riccardo Taolin, a volunteer.
Daniele Mombelli has a delicate task- he is a "broom". "We follow the last runners, step by step, being their guardian angels". The "brooms" assure that nature turns back to normal: they clean up everything. Others expect the runners at the life bases and one can assist at ,faces, persons, stories, soaked in uncountable languages. It doesn't matter where you are from, or how hold you are : the needs are always the same: food, water, rest, a glance, a smile or a friendly voice.
