Runners’ health is a priority for TORX® organisation, who makes available for participants a medical-nursing team involved in all the races, supplying the best assistance to guarantee athletes’ safety.
Medical assistance is deployed along the whole routes, where medical professionals can be consulted at every moment.
In a race that pushes so high the physical resources of the athletes, an appropriate medical follow up is crucial to guarantee the maximum safety for the health.
Since the first edition, back in 2010, TORX® organisation have worked to preserve the authenticity of this sport, its values and fair play.
To guarantee the maximum safety and fairness, the medical supervisors have decided to limit to selected case only the administration of medicines. Unless in few cases (examined by the medical commission), no anti-inflammatory, antiemetic, etc drugs will be administrated.
According to experience, the medical organisation of TORX® recommends bringing, besides the compulsory equipment, a first aid kit (compeed for feet, sun cream, eye drops, etc).
Finally, we want to emphasize on the caution needed in the self-administration of drugs, as organs (for example, kidneys) are extremely stressed during such an extreme competition.
