Since it was born fifteen years ago, the TORX® has always been an event that attracts great interest from many perspectives. There’s the sporting aspect with its races featuring great champions, the epic journey through the entire Aosta Valley, and the unique, once-in-a-lifetime experience also for those who have done it multiple times. This year, the TORX® with Kailas once again lived up to expectations, delivering a cascade of emotions from the first to the last kilometer for ten unforgettable days: overtakes, comebacks, first-time victories, records, extreme weather, a new competition, tears, applause, shouts of joy, dancing, and selfies under the finish line arch.
A celebration that began on Friday, September 6th, with the start of the TOR450 – Tor des Glaciers and concluded on Sunday, September 15th, at Courmayeur’s Parco Bollino with the awarding of all 1,300 finishers (68 in the TOR450, 529 in the TOR330, 163 in the TOR130, 147 in the TOR100, and 393 in the TOR30) under a warm sun. In between were the TOR330 – Tor des Géants®, TOR130 – Tot Dret, the new TOR100 – Cervino-Monte Bianco, and the TOR30 – Passage au Malatrà: about 2,800 athletes from over 70 countries who faced rain, snow, wind, cold, a few bursts of sunshine, but most importantly, the enthusiasm along the trails, at the aid stations, and at the finish line, brought by nearly 3,000 VolonTOR, guides, doctors, nurses, MassaggiaTOR, sweepers, race judges, and even simple mountain enthusiasts.
A spectacle that could also be followed worldwide from home thanks to the TORX® Live Web TV, featuring studio and on-course interviews, news, updates, live coverage, highlights, four speakers in three languages, as well as via social media channels Instagram and Facebook with stories, posts, and reels, and a press office that produced and distributed 13 press releases in three languages to over 700 contacts during the race.
The TORX® with Kailas will return next year from September 12th to 21st, 2025. “It was an extremely difficult edition, the weather challenged everyone,” said Alessandra Nicoletti, president of VDA Trailers. “All the races were extreme, and all the athletes showed incredible determination that did them great honor. The sun on this awards day is a gift to them.”
