From the start to the finish line he dominated throughout
the race, without ever looking back or showing signs of
abating: not even the pouring rain managed to scratch the
almost perfect performance shown by Henri Grosjacques,
on the third TORX® 2022 race.
The fifth edition of TOR130 - Tot Dret, therefore, is Henri’s
again: 130 kilometers with 12,000 meters of elevation gain,
raced at an even faster pace than last year, when he
surprised all his opponents by taking home a prestigious
victory in 25h42'23". Under the arch at the Jardin de l'Ange,
in Courmayeur, the clock stopped at 22h06'31": an
excellent time, for Grosjacques, lower than Giuliano
Cavallo's (23'h01" 25) of 2019 with a longer path, however.
His opponents - 386 who started last night Gressoney-Saint-Jean - gradually had to surrender: the first to raise the white
flag was the other Aosta Valley favorite, Gilles Roux, who
retired in Ollomont. The Belgian Florentin Gorris
(22h39'06 ") and the Swiss Vincent Boitelet (24h03'05")
took the podium together with Grosjacques.
Among the women, the victory went to Alessandra
Boifava, in 25h45'25". The Italian runner, already third in
2018, made her run on the two strongest athletes of the lot
- Oksana Riabova and Cristiana Follador - taking
advantage of their retirement, which took place for both in
Oyace.
