Emotions at the Jardin de l’Ange

Jardin de l’Ange, filled up with public, athletes and journalists from all over the world, for the official handover of the pectorals of the Tor des Géants®2013. This afternoon had such a special atmosphere.. tension and excitement. Concentrated faces and silence among the present athletes. No declarations and no predictions. The spanish champion, Iker Karrera, indicated as possible favourite,preferred not to say too much: everyone could win this competition.One has to look over its shoulder even on the last few meters...I feel good, even if I feel all the tension of the Tor. 
 
Who knows better than his fellow countryman Oscar Perez, who has to defend his title of 2012. “To repeat such an exploit is always difficult . The weather conditions might influence the event on the first part." Very excited also Bruno Brunod, World champion in skyrunning in the nineties,being at his first experience on that long distance. Another interesting athlete is Franco Collè , who hopes to improve this year.
 
Francesca Canepa, winner of the past edition has to cope with a lot of pressure: I would prefer not to be among the top-quoted, I have a hard time handling the stress. I hope not to have any physical problems. Tomorrow, 10 am ... start of a big adventure...!
