After crossing the torrent the path descends steeper up to Loomatten. Along the main road you quickly reach the base of life at the Palazzetto di Gressoney (1329m). Hour barrier.
From the base of life turn immediately right and along the building (about 30 meters); you immediately enter the Lombard road (n. 14). After about 1 km you cross the regional road 44 passing then on the orographic right of the river Lys to reach the center of the village (you cross the two main squares passing in front of the church). Cross the Regional Road 44 again, taking the orographic left to take a dirt road that after a couple of km reaches the start for the path that leads to the Alpenzu refuge (1780 m).
