They are called VolonTOR - the DNA cannot be changed - and are united by their professionalism, which they have acquired over countless previous experiences. They always know what needs to be done, and do not limit themselves to carrying out the necessary routine tasks. The VolonTOR must know how to deal with all kinds of unforeseen events, support and sometimes endure competitors at the end of their tether and therefore lacking in lucidity, and be bureaucrats and psychologists.
Competitors meet them at the bib handover, along the route, at refreshments and in the most inaccessible places at any time and whatever the weather conditions. Many of them, however, are invisible to most. They are the ones who work in the days leading up to the race to prepare the race packs, get the necessary material to the high altitude stations. They are the ones who mark out the route by colouring the paths with signs and flags. Many arrive from outside the region and book weeks and months in advance. Among them are those who are fond of a single post, those who serve in the same hut every year and have thus forged strong ties with the hut managers over time. Or those who ask to be employed with friends and acquaintances, forcing the organisation into laborious juggling. Most applicants, however, simply send the times when they are available and any contraindications.
In order to make the group even more compact and professional, the VolonTOR Association was founded in 2021, which includes all the people who serve at VDA Trailers races. More compact, safer, more cheerful: the VolonTOR army is ready to meet every challenge. And you, do you want to join them?
