“A glass of Vien de Nus
underneath the heavenly spheres”
Next to a deep ravine, which opens onto the Valley of Saint-Barthélemy, you will find Nus. Surrounded for as far as the eye can see by stretches of fields, fruit trees, chestnut trees and vines, where the grapes used for the Vien de Nus are grown. This wine is the protagonist in the oenological Festival which every year brightens the second Sunday of May.
A journey among the marvellous skies which can be seen at the Saint-Barthélemy Astronomical Observatory, location for Italy’s oldest ‘Star Party’, dedicated to Our Lady of Snow, and celebrated on the 5th of August.
According to local legend, Procurator Pontius Pilate may have stayed here during his journey to his exile in Galilee.
